Repairing a Dental Crown in Connecticut

By October 21, 2021No Comments

What to Do If Your Crown Breaks

Repairing broken crowns is one of the services we offer at Geriatric Housecall Dentistry. When a patient calls us and asks if we can come fix their crown, there are three key pieces of information we ask them for. We want to know what the outside of the crown, the inside of the crown, and the remaining part of the crown that’s left in the mouth look like.

We will ask for pictures so we can determine the best course of action to take based on the damage. If a piece of your tooth is stuck in the crown, we want to know before we arrive at your home. Take pictures to send us so we can see what the damage looks like and be prepared to help you.

While you are waiting for us to arrive, there are a few steps you can take to minimize discomfort. If the crown is very loose, you can remove it to avoid swallowing it. If you are bleeding, you should place a piece of gauze over the area.
